Polls transform passive viewers into active participants. They break up your presentation, gather valuable audience data, and create moments of engagement that keep attention high. Zyntro's poll system lets you create reusable polls, trigger them at specific times, and analyze results to understand your audience better.
π Interactive Engagement
Polls appear as overlays during your webinar, inviting viewers to participate. With countdown timers and instant results, they create interactive moments that boost attention and provide valuable audience insights.
How Polls Work
When a poll triggers during your webinar:
- An overlay appears with your question and answer options
- A countdown timer shows how long viewers have to respond
- Attendees click their chosen option
- When time expires (or they vote), results can be displayed
- The poll closes and the webinar continues
Each vote is tracked, and you can review complete analytics after the webinar.
Creating Polls
Poll Library
Zyntro maintains a library of reusable polls for your organization. Create polls once, then attach them to any webinar. Access your poll library from Webinars Central > Webinar Polls.
Creating a New Poll
Click Create Poll and configure:
Basic Information
- Poll Title: Internal name for organizing (e.g., "Challenge Question - Marketing")
- Question: What you're asking attendees
Answer Options
- Add 2-6 answer options
- Each option has a text label
- Optional: Set predefined percentages for demonstration polls
Settings
- Duration: How long the poll stays open (10-300 seconds)
- Show Results: Whether to display aggregated results after voting closes
π‘ Pro Tip
Keep poll questions simple and options clear. Viewers need to read, understand, and respond quickly. "What's your biggest challenge?" with 3-4 clear options works better than complex questions with nuanced answers.
Predefined Results
For demonstrations or controlled presentations, you can set predefined result percentages:
When to Use Predefined Results
- Product demos: Show realistic engagement without live audience
- Training videos: Display example results for educational purposes
- Testing: Verify poll display before going live
How It Works
When creating a poll, assign a percentage to each option. Percentages must total 100%. When the poll displays:
- The question and options appear as normal
- If Show Results is enabled, predefined percentages display
- Actual votes (if any) are still tracked separately in analytics
Leave all percentages at 0 for live voting mode where results come purely from actual responses.
Attaching Polls to Webinars
Step 1: Open Poll Settings
From your webinar editor, go to the Polls tab.
Step 2: Add Polls
Click Add Poll to select from your poll library. For each poll, configure:
- Trigger Time: Minutes into the video when the poll appears
- Duration Override: Optionally override the default duration
Step 3: Arrange Order
If you have multiple polls, arrange them in the order they'll appear (based on trigger times).
Poll Timing Strategy
Strategic timing maximizes engagement and data quality:
Early Poll (5-10% into webinar)
Purpose: Wake up the audience, establish interaction pattern
Example: "How familiar are you with [topic]?" with options ranging from Beginner to Expert
Benefit: Sets expectations and helps you tailor your language
Mid-Point Poll (40-60% into webinar)
Purpose: Re-engage viewers, gather qualifying data
Example: "What's your biggest challenge with [topic]?" with specific pain points
Benefit: Qualifies leads and provides segmentation data for follow-up
Pre-Offer Poll (just before your offer)
Purpose: Prime the audience for your solution
Example: "Would solving [problem] help your business?" with Yes/No/Maybe
Benefit: Gets mental commitment before presenting your offer
Post-Content Poll (near end)
Purpose: Gather feedback, identify hot leads
Example: "How interested are you in learning more?" with interest levels
Benefit: Self-identification for sales follow-up prioritization
π‘ Pro Tip
Place polls at natural transition points in your contentβafter completing a section, before introducing a new concept, or when energy typically dips. This creates smooth flow while maximizing participation.

- Time appropriately: 30-45 seconds is usually enough
- Show results: People love seeing how others voted
- Connect to content: Polls should feel relevant, not random
- Act on data: Use poll responses in your follow-up
Polls are one of the most powerful tools for turning passive webinar viewers into engaged participants. Use them strategically to boost attention, gather valuable data, and identify your best prospects.
